Burckhardt revives compressors at steel mill

Burckhardt Compression revived four non- Burckhardt compressors that had been inactive for a decade at a facility belonging to an unnamed steelmaking mill.

The mill wanted to convert this plant into a sustainable facility that complied with stringent environmental guidelines.

Burckhardt offered a range of services, from major inspection and revamping to supplying necessary spare parts. The team also revamped auxiliary equipment such as motors and coolers.

The team inspected the electrical motors and refurbished the lube oil coolers. They also updated the instrumentation, performed calculations for increasing discharge pressure, and supplied necessary spare parts.

An unnamed spokesperson for the steel manufacturing facility said: “Burckhardt Compression has been a crucial partner in our journey towards sustainable steelmaking. Its dedication and skill ensured our compressors were not only revived but also optimized for enhanced performance.”
