Maintenance, service and repair group Deritend reckons its new focus on plants' energy efficiency and low carbon technologies will double its turnover.

The Wolverhampton-based firm, which operates a national branch network, has launched a dedicated website (www.lowcarbonservice.co.uk) and has also been cleared to set up a zero interest loans service, funded by the Carbon Trust.
Says managing director Richard Hale: "We believe that there is a huge market out there for us, with manufacturing companies across the UK seeking environmental best practice – not only to come in line with the Carbon Reduction Commitment, but to cut costs and drive efficiencies."
And he adds: "With 70% of electricity in manufacturing used through electric motors," added Hale, "if we can achieve even a small boost in efficiency, the savings will be remarkable."
