Perth-based independent bottling company Broxburn Bottlers has grown over the past decade, and its blending and bottling facility has benefited from on-going investment with the latest upgrade and new centre also taking place at its Perth facility.
Incorporating tanker receivals, transfers and dispatch, large vats, and cask filling and disgorging, the project was delivered in parallel with a Bonded Warehouse development.
Extensive design iteration and planning underpinned the short time frames within which the project was delivered. Complete modelling of the physical components resulted in a minimal amount of on-site pipe and steel work required.
Broxburn Bottling engineering manager Bill Richards says: “A high level of automation was required for this project and the new facility is now able to operate with a minimum of personnel. The completed blend centre went smoothly into production, with frequent tanker movements and the cask warehouses filling up fast. The additional vats we installed provide buffer capacity and flexibility as we provide a leading service to the whisky industry.”
