Emerson Process Management has now commissioned state-of-the-art liquid density meter calibration facilities in Slough, UK and Boulder, USA, which, it claims, are a world first for multiple temperature and pressure conditions mimicking real application conditions.
Andy Dudiak, vice president of Emerson's Micro Motion business unit, explains that the new laboratories have been built to support the recently released Micro Motion compact density meters (CDM) – particularly in custody transfer, blending and concentration applications.
"By rethinking both the meter design and the calibration methodology, Emerson has created an on-line density meter that brings market-leading accuracy to our customers' applications," states Dudiak.
He also says that Emerson's new facilities have now tripled the capacity of its previous density meter calibration sites, effectively reducing calibration processes from days to hours.
