Emerson Process Management's AMS predictive maintenance software has now been extended to cover all plant equipment using the Profibus PA digital fieldbus interface.
Ron Martin, vice president and general manager of Emerson's Asset Optimisation business division, explains that users can now get a more consistent approach to plant maintenance.
He also says that the maintenance management software also now supports both EDDL (Electronic Device Description Language) and FDT/DTM, as well as the original HART and Foundation fieldbus Device Type Managers (DTMs).
"Our users need the right information at the right time and want to be able to access that information in a consistent manner," comments Martin.
"We are committed to openness and full support of industry standards to give our users the ultimate freedom in choice," he adds.
