Emerson Process Management has released its latest SmartProcess Oil and Gas Applications Suite, stating that it will help operators “achieve greater production, reduce lifecycle costs, ensure consistency between sites and reduce the likelihood of [health and safety] events”.
The new system incorporates Emerson's remote terminal units (RTUs) and flow computers (ROC, ControlWave, and FloBoss) and is aimed at the oil and gas production and transmission markets – under Production Manager and Transmission Manager respectively.
Production Manager contains oil, gas, and site-wide applications designed, says the firm, to get lean operations running faster – by selecting an application from the catalogue, loading it into an Emerson RTU, and configuring accordingly.
Meanwhile, Transmission Manager consists of Station Manager, Cause and Effect, and Gas Control Manager. Emerson asserts that this series maintains the integrity of the operators' assets and avoids safety and environmental incidents.
