Training at British Energy, part of EDF Energy, now includes actuation, to support the more than 400 Auma actuators at the utility's sites, including Hinkley B, Dungeness B and Hunterston B.

Rodger Smith, a British Energy electrical technical training instructor based at Dungeness B, says the course was designed for the utility's electrical maintain technicians, because actuation technology is process critical, so requires practical maintenance skills.
"Our technicians are practical people and Auma's training, which is adapted to meet our needs, is engaging and informative. As a result, in contrast to traditional classroom learning, it is effective at ensuring staff retain information and enhance their skill levels."
