The International IECEx Certificate of Personnel Competence, for engineers working in hazardous areas, has been awarded to Ian Harrison of hazardous area training and consulting firm, Ex-Solutions Consulting.
A process safety systems specialist, Harrison – who works with Ex-Solutions Consulting – was among the first three people to sign up with Baseefa to achieve the IECEx certificate.
Harrison says he was keen to demonstrate his experience and knowledge with the internationally recognised competency qualification.
"When operating in the global marketplace, it is essential for competency in hazardous areas to be independently verified by a professional body." He comments.
Harrison has considerable experience in risk management, particularly in potentially explosive atmospheres, and helps plant manager to meet their legal obligations under DSEAR and ATEX.
He has an MSc in health and safety management, and is a chartered electrical engineer and chartered health and safety practitioner.
