McQuay launches “world’s most advanced chiller”

McQuay UK launched what it describes as the world's most advanced air-cooled chiller, at the London Transport Museum, yesterday (18 November 2013).
Its new chiller uses single screw compressor technology with a built-in inverter and offers variable volume ratio, which the firm says maximises performance at part and full loads. "It's the best product in its category and will outperform any competitors in the marketplace," insists James Henley, chiller manager at McQuay UK. "ATS chillers have lower running costs and use up to 50% less energy than traditional non-inverter chillers," he continues. "This results in an exceptionally good return on investment and outstanding savings for our customers." Henley also says McQuay plans to take its inverter screw compressor technology further, to reduce the environmental load of air conditioning and refrigeration equipment, as well as the energy cost to end users.
