
The society works on all proposed UK and European compressed air systems' energy and environmental legislation and standards through the European body PNEUROP, and the EU engineering industry organisation ORGALIME.
Abbott will work alongside Bordiak throughout this year, enabling him to experience BCAS' technical committees, its work with European bodies and the requirements of BCAS members.
"Dean brings with him a wealth of engineering experience, with his most recent role lasting seven years as an aviation surveyor," comments Chris Dee, executive director at BCAS.
"Before this, he enjoyed 25 years' service in the RAF, leaving as a chief technician, and progressing to a senior civil service position in the Training Aircraft Integrated Project team," he continues.
"He is also an adaptable, resourceful and hard working engineer with an eye for detail and accuracy, which makes him a perfect fit for BCAS."
