A nationwide hunt has been launched by EEF (the manufacturers' organisation) and Rolls-Royce, aimed at finding the UK's most talented young engineers of the future.
Part of the fifth Future Manufacturing Awards, the Young Engineering Student Award will go to the student who has benefited most from Key Stage 4 engineering studies and embarked on a career in manufacturing.
The EEF awards are free to enter and will be judged in five regions across the UK. Regional winners will be announced at events in November, followed by competition for the national awards, culminating in a London ceremony in January 2014.
"The Future Manufacturing Awards has established itself as the biggest and most prestigious event in the manufacturing sector," asserts EEF chief executive Terry Scuoler.
"This is our time to celebrate manufacturing champions and the young apprentices who are shaping the future, and I challenge all UK manufacturers to step up and submit an entry."
