Cheltenham-based steam specialist TLV Euro Engineering has developed a free iPhone app for plant engineers wanting to get instant steam calculations..
Based on Version 3 of its SE-1 engineering calculation software, the app is download from the Apple App Store, and the firm says a version for Google's Android mobile operating system will also be available soon.
Dubbed TLV ToolBox App, features include: standard unit conversions; steam tables; steam pipe sizing, by velocity, flow rate and pressure loss; velocity and flow rates through a pipe; condensate pipe sizing; direct/indirect heat loads; continual/batch heat loads; a KV calculator, and flow rates through orifice or valve.
It is also compatible with major pipe schedules, including DIN, ANSI, JIS) and all major imperial and metric units.
