The programme has been developed in partnership with Edg VR and focuses on a series of virtual scenarios to enhance Amey’s induction process, including site safety, driver awareness and hazard perception.

The platform uses 360-degree photos, videos, CGI features and interactive platforms to deliver health and safety training modules. It also provides insight into employee performance by using live scoring, assessment and analytics.

Several training sessions have already taken place across the UK. More than 1,600 Amey employees will be enrolled on to the course and it is hoped that the training will increase retention, reduce costs regarding site defects, fines and vehicle damage, and protect employees on the front line.
Earlier this month, Amey also revealed that it is piloting a new augmented reality (AR) app to help fight ‘unflushables’.
