A compact steam-to-water heat exchange system, designed to provide hot water instantaneously up to 2,100kW, whatever the load conditions and without the need for a water storage vessel, has been introduced by ARI.

Nick Davies, UK sales director, says that ENCOsys will control to +/-1ºC under steady load conditions and responds quickly to large or sudden load changes.
He also says that it "rarely requires" a bi-annual insurance inspection, due to the low volume of the heat exchanger, compared to the traditional shell and tube option.
By heating the secondary water and sub-cooling the condensate in the same plate heat exchanger, substantial energy savings can be achieved and cost of ownership is further reduced because of its greater energy efficiency over shell and tube designs, he says.
Key applications include domestic hot water, low temperature hot water (LTHW) and process heating duties, such as hot water hose-down, heat recovery and cleaning in place.
