Self-lubricating polymer slew ring bearings

Slewing bearings that use two self-lubricating, low-friction polymer sliding elements (in place of conventional ball bearings) have been developed by igus.
Their big clams to fame are high wear resistance, easy installation and maintenance-free. They are also robust, high load capacity, low-cost and low-noise devices. All housing parts are fabricated from aluminium and use stainless steel screws. Meanwhile, the sliding pads are made from high performance iglidur J (which contains a solid lubricant), while the counter-running surfaces are hard-anodized. Iglidur J material also has a low coefficient of friction, and is resistant to aggressive chemicals, moisture absorption and vibration. The iglidur PRT slewing ring bearing system is available in a wide range of sizes, with outside diameters of 20, 30, 60, 100 200 and 300 mm.
