Metal cans manufacturer Emballator Packaging is complementing specialist plastic pipe distributor PipeKit for its range, technical support and prompt response in dealing with its requirements for a new plastic division at its Bradford headquarters.

The Swedish owned company has invested £5,000,000 in a purpose-built plastic moulding plant and tooling to meet the changing face of the paint industry – which now requires more plastic, rather than metal can, to contain increasingly popular water-based paints.
Mike Leach, engineering manager at Emballator Packaging, explains that, as part of the development, the firm needed high-quality ABS pipework to meet the specification and installation requirements of the two new large water cooling circuits.
One circuit cools the paint containers during production, operating at 5 bar. The other cools the six hydraulic oil-cooled moulding machines, operating at 4 bar.
And hence the choice of Astore ABS pipes and fittings, from PipeKit, for its corrosion resistance, durability and solvent welding jointing technology – making it ideal for the low-temperature fluid in the water cooling circuits.
"PipeKit's competitive pricing allowed us to keep within our budget, but it was not the attractive rates that impressed us," states Leach
"The distributor's extensive range, its excellent technical support, both on the web and first hand, and prompt response and delivery of product to site were all first rate," he explains.
"We were often thinking on our feet and needing to respond to evolving demands from the project. It often resulted in us needing to change or add to our orders or require additional technical support – and PipeKit always accommodated those needs."
PipeKit supplied Astore ABS pipes and fittings, as well as shut-off and relief valves, seals and solvents.
