'Learnbubble', an e-learning programme from training specialist Elmstone Systems, now covers eight key health and safety topics online.
Course developer Lee Stampton, director of Health & Safety South East, explains that modules now on offer include: electrical safety; hand arm vibration; display screen equipment; control of noise; asbestos awareness; manual handling; handling hazardous materials (CoSHH); and fire safety awareness.
"With Learnbubble, employees can take modules at a time to suit them m[and] we can tailor the modules to a company's needs so that people know the precise health and safety rules in their own environment," explains Stampton.
Stampton makes that point that few plants can afford to send key workers away for a day, especially when travel, accommodation and associated costs are factored in.
The same course can be delivered via e-learning and, just as importantly, assessed in a time and place that works for both the company and its employees.
