Warwick Castle's Great Hall is warming to the presence of three new Potterton cast iron boilers, from Baxi Commercial Division, which have now replaced 30-year old boilers from the same firm.

Installer Batchelor & Hodges selected NXR3 high efficiency natural gas-fired boilers, each with an output of 170kW.
Part of the reason for their selection, according to a spokesperson, was that each comes in six sections, so overcoming access and installation issues.
The NXR3 also has a cleverly designed heat exchanger that incorporates multiple flue-ways and fins to increase the surface area, which the company says ensures environmentally sound combustion – so minimising CO2 and NOx emissions.
The boilers are now serving the existing, vintage cast-iron radiator system, as well as convectors, and have been connected to the castle's BMS (building management system), which has also been upgraded to facilitate control and monitoring.
