SKF has developed a grease test methodology and portable test kit to assess condition on plant. For fresh and used grease, the kit checks consistency, oil bleeding and contamination, enabling plant and maintenance engineers to save time and money in laboratory samples – and ensure that they are not putting machines at risk.
Dubbed the Grease Test Kit TKGT 1, SKF says it is designed as a quick assessment tool and can be used in any engineering sector without specialist training. No harmful chemicals are required and only small samples of the grease are needed.
