First condition monitoring iPhone App

Parker Hannifin's Filtration Division has released the industry's first condition monitoring app for the iPhone, iPad and iTouch, as a free download from the iTunes app store.
The company says its app provides a swift and convenient way to ensure that hydraulic oil and fuel systems are safe from contamination – so reducing costly delays caused by equipment failure and downtime. The ConMon app features two programs – ISO Code Generator and Frequency Analysis – that together help users to measure the degree of filtration required for their applications, and the frequency of fluid testing. Plant engineers enter details about their machinery via an interactive questionnaire, the results of which offer a recommendation of how clean their system needs to be. Users can then measure the current level of contamination in their system to see if it is within this recommended limit. The Frequency Analysis program then balances issues, such as machine sensitivity and likely downtime costs, and reports back with guidelines on how often to sample, to achieve maximum efficiency.
