A new ac motor control drive from Rockwell is being claimed to offer improved flexibility, ease of use and productivity for general-purpose applications.

Allen-Bradley PowerFlex 753 is standards-based, supports multiple languages and is aimed at fans, pumps and conveyors.
As for control hardware, it's the DeviceLogix range, with local and remote logic, and users can also configure the drive to provide advanced notification of operating issues on cooling fans, I/O relay cycles, motor run-time hours and fault warnings.
Other functions include Embedded Safe Torque-Off and Safe-Speed Monitoring – but users can tailor the drive, taking advantage of its slot-based architecture.
Power ranges are from 0.75 to 250kW or 1 to 350hp at 400/480V ac and 540/650V dc input.
